A long first appointment. Full history, prior records and labs reviewed, and a plan you leave with.
What a session involves
We listen to your needs, learn about your lifestyle, and discuss any symptoms you may be having. We gather a thorough personal history, family history, medical history, and environmental exposure history to better understand your complete story.
We perform in-office physical exams of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, neurological systems, and more. You do not need labs beforehand; our doctors order what is needed after evaluating you.

Before you book

- This visit is the evaluation. Our coordinator books the length with you beforehand.
What to know beforehand
- Bring a list of your current medications and supplements.
- Bring or upload any recent lab results and records through the patient portal.
- You do not need labs done beforehand. The doctors order what is needed after seeing you.
- A $100 deposit holds the appointment and goes towards it.
Questions
Do I need blood work before I come?
No. We cannot send lab orders before your first visit. Dr. Afrooz prefers to take your history and examine you first, so the right tests get ordered.
What do I leave with?
A treatment plan based on your symptoms, adjusted once your lab results come in. Supplements go to our online dispensary and any prescriptions to your pharmacy.
When is the follow-up?
Usually eight weeks later, sooner if needed. Follow-ups run 30 to 45 minutes and cost $170 to $200 with Dr. Afrooz, $150 to $200 with Dr. Needle.
